This word would be more useful in its sense of axiom, proposition. Otherwise it is merely a bInglanHom.
Because we have separate words for "hypothesis" and "theory," I suspect Klingons think of "postulate" as distinct also.
I agree, though I think it's more accurate and useful to refer to a postulate as part of the logical architecture of a proof rather than a 'precursor' of a hypothesis.
On reflection this might be a meqmeH mIw step of reasoning, tobmeH mIw stage of proof, or nompuq mIw step of evidence.
