Is there any reason to believe these would be the same word in Klingon? Two entries for the two different meanings here would be better.
I thought they are different, but I made them all together… and I can't post any more because I have already reached the limit.
There's already a way to say dot – ghoHom. The other meaning could be easily covered by Daq(Hom).
Daq(Hom) would only work for a physical location, but the request seems to be for "point" in an abstract sense of an idea or argument, for which we have qech.
We may very well learn that vI' "sharpshooting, marksmanship" is the same word as vI' "decimal point" because the original Klingon decimal point resembled the centre of a shooting target.
I agree. These are two different meanings which happen to map to the same word in English, but aren't necessarily even related in Klingon.
