We have a word for the category this belongs to – tI vegetation. In many cases this could be used instead.
chum tI Seghvetlh 'InSongmey. This type of plant has bright flowers.
ghorvo' tIvam muqemta' Sogh. The lieutenant brought me these plants from the planet's surface.
Where it gets tricky is when you want to talk about individual plants; I can't think of a handy equivalent for individual, discrete, or unit.
