Perhaps use 'Iq – be too much, be too many to describe the thing with is in surplus.
pu'Huch 'Iq vIghajmo' vIngevlaHbe' – Because I have a surplus of phaser pistols, I can't sell them.
If we had a word for an economic "market" in the abstract, I might support {'Iq}. But there's no convenient way of distinguishing its scope. This kind of surplus makes a statement about the state of market-forces. A merchant might have too many phaser pistols because his warehouse is already full!
Well we already have {reDyev} for a "shortage", so a noun for its opposite would be consistent.
