We already have joQ. Maybe Maltz will provide clarification.
{joQ} means two things: an anatomical 'rib', and a structural 'strip' of material in a {SuSDeq} musical instrument.
So the target concept of the above suggestion is the larger category to which {joQ}(2) might belong.
It seems unlikely that {joQ} can refer to all straps anywhere.
Does a strap have to be flat and narrow, like {'uchmeH qoSta'} "ribbon for holding"?
