  1. I don't believe something like {ruchqangqu'be' 'ach ruch} is particularly awkward, but if you want to avoid it, here's what I'd say:
    {ruch net raD} "…was compelled/forced to [do it]"

    1. I'd say there's still quite a bit of way to go between "being forced to do something" and "doing something reluctantly". I go to the doctor reluctantly because I don't like it, but that doesn't mean anyone is forcing me to.
