The Klingon Language Institute Forums Language Help just looking for a word

I’m still a beginner but am looking for a translation for the English word “with”. Not “with” as in “accompanying”, but more like “using”. Eg “I hit him with a sword”, “I paid with a credit card”, “I listened with headphones”, as opposed to “I went there with her”. I use the boQwI’ Hol app and it’s usually very good, but I couldn’t find any word on it which seemed to match<div>

    Thanks in advance

Klingon has no prepositions at all, so you have to use verbs to express using something in order to do something.

{QIn vIghItlhmeH nItlh ‘echlet vIlo’} “I type a message on a keyboard.” [literally, “I use a finger board in order to write a message.”

{tlhapragh vIbuQmeH ‘obmaQ vIQach} “I threatened the monster with an axe.” [literally, “In order to threaten the monster I wield an axe.]

In general {lo’} is used for this purpose as you can see it sometimes pays to get colorful and see what other verbs can also work.

Yes, it is sometimes difficult to find the right words when writing written works. I came across them during a ghostwriting dissertation. I realized that I couldn’t cope on my own, I needed to get help from specialists. Professional writers helped me with this.
