Yeah I would say nIS.
If I had to improvise, so would I. But do Klingons think of two waves travelling past each other as the same kind of action as intervening in a situation uninvited? On SkyBox card 19, nIS was used for radiation interference in subspace radio, so it's possible that they realised that water waves and radio waves are analogous and converged on using the same language as we did. However, the revelation of mergh and tIr and the relationship between them strongly suggests to me that tIr would describe interference (since mergh is used in science to describe superposition).
A nISwI' disruptor is also a type of weapon; though I'm not an expert in fake scifi physics nIS seems like a good match for that reason.
