{qama'pu' jonta' neH}
was originally the sentence for:
"I told you, only the machine"
later, it somehow got confused or changed:
"I wanted to capture prisoners"
{qama'pu' vIjonta' vIneH}
{qama'pu'} first had the meaning of now {qaja'pu'}.
Marc Okrand needed to "accomodate" these words, hence the verb {ma'} "accomodate" :-)
The other two words come from another sentence, which is accidently used twice in ST5, so MO again
needed to recast the translation:
{vaj toDDujDaj ngeHbej DIvI'}
"Then the federation will certainly send their rescue ship"
---> {vaj toDuj Daj ngeHbej DI vI'}
"Shooting of cosmos garbage doesn't proof a warriors' courage"
(TKW: Shooting space garbage is no test of a warrior's mettle.)
I once said to MO "Ah, that's why there are two words for warrior..."
He answered s.th. like, "No, actually not. vaj is not the same as SuvwI'."
