Other words to consider include the verbs {yev} "pause, take a break",
{mIm} "delay", {bup} "quit", {baq} "terminate, discontinue" and {mev}
"stop, cease" as well as the nouns {len} "recess, break" and {lenHom}
"short break". Whether any of them can or cannot be used WRT computers in
addition to people is unknown, but most people here on the List would
probably understand you. I particularly like {yev}; e.g.:
naDev yaHwIjDaq jIvumqu'taHvIS, pIj yev De'wI'wIj jay'!
My computer here at work often "hangs" just when I'm working the hardest!
As for the idea of "for five minutes *at a time*", I'm not sure which of
these would be better, if either:
vagh tup qaStaHvIS pIj yev De'wI'wIj.
For five minutes, my computer often "hangs".
pIj vagh tup qaStaHvIS yev De'wI'wIj.
My computer often "hangs" for five minutes.
I.e. Does shifting the position of {pIj} make the difference? I prefer the
second, since the first version may also mean mean that my computer often
"froze up" during one five minute period.
