We don't know much about Klingon chemical terminology, but here's what I could
find from Okrand for various types of gases:
SIp gas
yInSIp oxygen
voQSIp nitrogen
bIQSIp hydrogen
yoq yIn yuQ 'oH Qo'noS'e'. yInSIp voQSIp je ngaS muDDaj.
Qo'noS is a class-M planet with an oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere. S27
bIQSIp 'ugh deuterium isotope (lit. "heavy hydrogen")
nIn: bIQSIp 'ugh
Fuel - Deuterium Isotope. KBoP
rugh bIQSIp anti-hydrogen
nIn: rugh bIQSIp
Fuel - Anti Hydrogen. KBoP
Here are a couple of ideas for carbon dioxide:
(1) If oxygen is {yInSIp} "life-gas", then CO2 could be *{HeghSIp} "death-gas"
since breathing pure CO2 is fatal, and it will extinguish, or kill, a flame.
(Of course, the same could be said for carbon monoxide and many other gases.)
And the symmetry is nice: you breathe in oxygen (life) vs. breathe out carbon
dioxide (death).
(2) {taQbang SIp} "exhaust gas": i.e. what you breathe out, or exhaust
{tlhuch}
from your body.
I'm sure other people will have more.
