Re: News from Pocket Books!

Hello there Dr Schoen,

As you can see from the blurb below, I don't count Klingon as my
preferred tongue. In fact -- and to thank you for them and compliment
you on their overall quality is another reason for this note -- I only
recived my Kilngon texts today, and so far have not progressed beyond
the pronunciation guide. However, on reading the first rejoinder to your
post on the new book, I saw this:

> Speaking of which, Lawrence, is there any more interest
> by S&S on publishing Hamlet as a paperback?

I am a typographer by trade and at the moment I am setting the new
Lojban Reference Grammar for the Logical Language Group -- one of
several efforts I believe -- on my computer. I say 'on my computer'
rather than just 'setting' because in one of my other lives I am a
letterpress printer; letterpress is the 'old' way of printing, no longer
commercially viable but aesthetically very beautiful. I was therefore
wondering if you would be interested in a letterpress 'limited edition'
of the Klingon Hamlet? 'Interested' from the point of view of a
co-production, I mean. I have only just thought of the idea, but the KLI
could fund the project in terms of materials only -- I would donate my
labour and time -- and sell the book for whatever it could.

Just a thought. I hope you don't mind the private note.

Nick

You could visit my site, but it's very new and there's not yet much up
about letterpress etc.
