Ya know, the vast majority of the mail the past few
days have
either come from you or are responses to you. I have
no
problem with that, that's what we're here for, but if
you
are the cause, then you really shouldn't complain.
As for a forum vs. mailing list, which I think is what
you are advocating, I don't really like forums, for
several
reasons:
1. I actually find it harder to follow topics on a
forum,
because if it is at all active, it's easy for earlier
posts
to disappear into the threads. I prefer getting
messages
sequentially, than having to scan an entire forum to
see if
something was posted that I missed. Besides, all
these posts
are archived at the KLI website, and can be ordered by
thread, so you can always check there.
2. I don't know how many forums I've been on where
people are
referring to old posts "lost when the server crashed"
or
when they had to move to a new host because the old
one
went bankrupt or started charging too much. This
mailing
list has been operating continuously since at least
1992.
3. If you prefer a forum, then by all means, start
one. No body
will oppose you. But do it as a suppliment to this
list,
not a replacement.
