ahaaa! That's where I got it from. thanks for those.

I prefer "painstick".
because 
 - it still is a "stick"
 - "stik" hurts my eyes
 - I had tkd before I had tkw
 - it might be a future spelling, but we live in the now.

I'd say this a personal decision everyone can choose for himself.
