yes, it is, on page 205.  it is also spelled "painstik" in kgt (pp. 65, 177, 
205) and s32, which is even entitled "Painstiks".  however, it is spelled 
"painstick" in tkd (pp. 185, 189) and on s9.
my original question should have been more like "is one of the spellings 
preferred on this list, and why?"
