I already picked up on the "good day to die" pattern. As I wrote:
>Maybe more colloquially: "Gray-haired klingons: because today is a good
>day for it to get colored."
So "...today is a good day for it to get dyed"? I still don't...
[Deadpan pause for about five seconds.]
QI'yaH, jIQIpchu'.
I keep running into the fact that I generally don't "get" audible puns when
they're in print. I'm told that many (most?) people hear the words in
their head while they read. I *can* do that if I try, but it interferes
greatly with my ability to remember what I'm reading.
It's still not funny in Klingon. If I had understood it in the first
place, I would have ignored it completely. In my opinion, translated puns
are a complete waste of energy.
