I had thought of this, but I wanted something that could be
generalized to other exponents. For example, A^N might be
<N-logh *boq'egh'egh A>, since exponentiation is like repeated
multiplication, but of course I can't <-'egh> twice. The other
thing I didn't like about this idea is that <M> is repeated.
(It also bothers me slightly that the quantity <M> in front of
<-logh> might not be an integer, but that's probably some kind
of Terran prejudice on my part.) You're right though, it works
and would be understood by a Klingon, given what we know of
their mathematics.
Now, would <N-logh M-logh boq'egh M> be understood as
<N x M x M> or would it be understood as <M^{N+1}> (i.e.
the <N-logh> applies to the <M-logh>)? Or would it not be
understood at all?

Unfortunately, this is the wrong meaning of "area". I wanted
to try <qoD> "inside, interior" and <Hur> "outside", but the
problem is that I couldn't disambiguate between the surface
area of a 3D object and its volume.
