Currently, I am employed in a health-care facility; only recently did I
become aware that health-care providers are required, by law, to provide
interpretation services for those persons unable to communicate in the
language of the provider -- apparently, mental health facilities are held to
an even stricter regulation; the requirement to provide translation for a
person's PREFERRED language of communication.  There is little doubt that
speakers of Klingon must have originally spoken a language of terrestrial
origin; most likely English.  But this is irrelevant in the context of
current federal regulations!  Who would have thought, a few years ago, that
knowing Klingon could have provided a job opportunity?    Thanks!
