I call myself Sengval. I've been reading this thing [what word do we use for
'mailing list'?] for several months.

Now I will describe something that happened to me today.

As I was walking home, a cat approached me. I like cats -- I have one -- so
I stopped to pet it. It certainly enjoyed it. It was obviously someone's
pet.

I examined the cat's label [ie tag]. I saw that this animal lived in San
Francisco. That city is on one side of the water [ie bay] and my house is on
the other, so I was surprised.

I took the cat home and hailed [ie called] its owner. I found that she
doesn't live in San Francisco now. A few days ago she came to my city, but
she hasn't changed her pet's label yet.

seemed pleased that I cared about animals. I liked her. Now the woman and
her cat have a friend in their new city.
