There are numerous terms that relate to a "low technology reality."  The
relatively primitive bladed weapons, hunting words, vocabulary for the
arts, etc. don't rely on the existence of a highly technological society.

The cardinal system isn't "omitted" because it's low-tech.  It might simply
not be the way Klingons describe directions.  It's been mentioned several
times recently that Hawaiian doesn't use the cardinal system, basing things
instead on terms like "toward the mountains" or "toward the ocean."  There
are numerous concepts in English that aren't part of Klingon, and vice versa.
Ideas like "north" and "east" might just not translate at all.
