Don't be too hard on folks saying "ramoy ram", though. It's a deliberate
joke, mostly on exactly what you're talking about. The silliness of the
English version, the compounded silliness of translating it literally, and
the doubly-compounded silliness of saying it at all. Just so you don't
think people are really thinking it's a legitimate greeting.
