RE:	Copy of: Writen Characters
This is not a copy I just messed up in sending.

Greetings members of the KLI

My name is Darren J. Hron and I am 18 and reciently new member of this fine
orginization. I have been a fan of ALL the Star Trek series, and I must sadly go
against popular opinion (at least the people I takl to) and say that my favorite
series is DS9.

I hope to learn Klingon to the best of my ability, but I have very little
experence. In addition I have had a nagging question ever since I first picked
up the Klingon Dictonary. This may at one time been covered, but has anyone put
any thought into creating a written language. I am fully aware of the upper
case, lower case ROMAN letters used to emmulate klingon sounds. However I have
seen in many Star Trek Episodes KLINGON Characters used yet no book about
Klingon, or anything relating to the subject matter has any of the chartacters
or their meaning. Has any further disscussion, or has the subject even been
brought up, about creating characters for the Klingon language. I have no
problem with the current method of communicating the language, but I feel since
a NEW language has been created and becomming a used (although limited)
language, that the use of ROMAN characters is a bit like, for lack of a better
word, cheating.

I was simply curious and I hope that I have not offended anyone, if this topic
has ever been brought up and I, simply being new, am in the dark.

Thank you,

Darren J. Hron
