Re: Time proposal - competition is still on!!

Thanks, one and all. It is a great feeling for a start out like moi to be able
to spark a discussion long enough for two digests. In particular, some of you
responded to the
promise of Australian Dollars ;-)
I did some calculations, and it seems that the stamps on the the envelope to
the USA will be worth more than the contents! But as it happens, no one has
won the competition yet
(phew! :) as the requirements were

The point is that the Klingon translations (if that's what they are; I don't
speak it yet)
haven't got any verification that they are accurate. Perhaps if one of the
distinguished
Grammarians would rule on the subject, else we can round up to contenders and
call a vote as to which is the best translation. *then* I will send the
flowery mail and the dollar coin.

Regarding the conversion charts, I'm pleased to notice that joe steger
actually got
around and laid his hands on what turns out to be suprisingly hard to get
material. *However* - It seems that you failed the requirement:

> A verified conversion chart

What *was* mailed to me was some mumbo - jumbo including domain names, a bunch
of what seems to be US states and something from the US naval observatory. The
last item is the closest to
scoring, but it needs to be turned into something that gives you the code for
your area, not
just raw data to wade through on your own. The technical details I won't go
through here.

As it happens, then, The competition is still open. What I need is for
somebody to create a
chart that says:

" Northern Territory, Australia: AUCST, ZULU + XXXX"

or something like that. Now, Joe Steger has the data to create a chart like
that, but
wether he''l feel inclined to share it is another matter ;-). I will happily
email
all of the stuff he sent me in return for you sending one US$ or whatever it
is where you
are to add to my collection. Now if you can give me a better deal, just email
me.

What are you waiting for?
