Minnesota Confirmation Requested
I've just heard some troubling news from a nonKlingonist in Minnesota. He
didn't have all the details, and wasn't too clear on what he did have,
so I thought I'd ask for more info from anyone on the list who IS in
Minnesota.
Basically, he said he'd heard an account on the radio (and also seen
reference to it in the local paper) that this summer's camp in Red Lake
Falls had lost a great deal of money, that the city was owed $3000, and
they were concerned about collecting.
Anyone out there got the straight poop on this? Obviously I'm concerned
about the backlash this might have on the KLI, as members of the media
lump all Klingon language efforts together, and as Glen is notorious for
giving interviews which result in mangled and distorted articles (e.g.,
the Wall Street Journal).
Oh, and on a similar note, I recently received a photo-copy of a snippet
from Ripley's "Believe It or Not!" which reads as follows:
Professor Glen Proechel of Crookston, Minn. has translated the
Bible into "Klingon," a language developed for the film "Star
Trek III: The Search for Spock!"
submitted by Chester Tumidajewicz, Amsterdam, N.Y.
Really makes my day. Sigh.
