yI'Ij! "02/Unknown" Bill Willmerdinger jatlhchu'pu' Uucp
 >Qapla', juppu'wI'

Uu> Hmmm. I suppose we can get away with "Qapla'" for goodbye, since (a)
Uu> we have nothing better and (b) you *do* say you're leaving in the next
Uu> sentence (otherwise I'd complain that Qapla'
Uu> doesn't carry the idea of parting).

It seems to be the best available parting wish.

 >Som DopDaq loDqoq QIb mach vIlegh 'e' vIQub
 Uu>
Uu> "I see a little sillhouetto of a man..." Where's the "side of the
Uu> hull" coming from? And the "I think"? If you want to express
Uu> uncertaintuy, "vIleghlaw'" is probably cleaner. you might consider
 Uu> "loDHey" or something.

This is another bad one. I was trying for a term to describe silhouette. My
Webster's says "an outline drawing filled in with a solid color; any dark
shapr or outline seen against a light background." I wanted to try something
with "QIb" (shadow). I also needed to keep the darn song workable, which is
where some of that other junk came from. I'll think this one over as well.

 >nuch mIyqu'
 >nuch mIyqu'
 >chaq vanDango' DanID'a'
 >jorbogh cha pu'mey je
 >jItaHvIpqu'
 >jIH!
 Uu>
Uu> Maybe jIHajqu'? This is a poem, so I'll not say you can't use "-vIp"
Uu> in first person. Tough to translate "Scaramouche!"

Oooh! Never saw "Haj" before.

Scaramouche I almost left alone, but when I found a definition... "boastful
coward" was do-able.

 >neH puqloD mIpHa' jIH
 >mumuSHa'taH pagh
 >neH puqloD mIpHa' ghaH
 >qorDu' mIpHa'vo'
 Uu>
Uu> "neH" at end again. I suppose the "-vo'" phrase needs to go at the
Uu> beginning too, since things that aren't subjects or objects go at the
 Uu> beginning.

 >toH! chonaghlaH 'e' DaQub
 >'ej mInwIjDaq bIghupHa'!
 Uu>
Uu> Hey, "ghupHa'"! That's a nice one. Maybe I'll use that instead of
 Uu> "SopHa'" in my Jonah.

Well, I think "ghupHa'" is more likely "vomit" than "spit" but it still
works!

Uu> All in all, enjoyable! Qapla'.

And thank you for the input. I'll be making my next run-through of the text
in a few days; I'll re-post the next version when it gets done.

Qob

... A-oooo.... Were-targs of Klinzhai! A-oooo....
