Literal back-translation into English:
Why do we recognize the world? Why do we suffer? Why do we dread, why
are we jealous? Why do we not merely live, while we are not
recognizing our deeds? Can we prefer this possibility? It is
apparently not possible.
But how do we become willing to throw away this gift? How have we
achieved this status? How do we deserve that we have received this
heavy gift?
One considers the era of two million years ago. This fact is true: an
advanced brain classifies our species, but the body also classifies:
arms, hands, eyes, ability to stand. I suggest this theory: our
ability to be flexible has absolutely influenced our progress. While
our species is/was progressing, our ability to learn is the most
important of all. Me can invent and we can challenge new situations.
We must be clever and we must reason. Thus we can cause our world to
change. _We_ do not need to change. We do not need to parry. For this
reason we and our world are imperfectly connected, and we recognize
the world within ourselves.
This idea which calms now causes unease. The process of change
follows clear, plain rules, but it completely lacks a goal. Thus we
cannot trust our origin, if it promotes and does not explain. The
theory of change helps us to understand the process which causes our
status, but cannot help us to understand the reason. So today's
situation is accepted.
Why do we recognize the world? We can answer, and it seems
sufficient, but it does not stop us from interrogating. This short
speech proclaims that our ability to recognize is merely a cursed so-
called gift.
