The "completion" idea is the primary one. TKD says that English
translations of {-ta'} and {-pu'} seldom make a distinction between
them. The idea of accomplishment is just an extra nuance of {-ta'}.
If you just want to indicate intentional action, you can use the
adverbial {chIch}.
