We disagree, my friend. I see {-pu'} implying a change of
state, similar to {-choH}, except that {-choH} implies a change
into a state and {-pu'} implies a change out of a state, while
{-choHpu'} implies a change out of a state of changing into the
state -- which means the state is currently engaged.
tujchoH = It became hot (and is hot now, but it has not been
hot very long and may still be heating up).
tujpu' = It had been hot (but is now not hot).
tujchoHpu' = It had become hot (and is still hot, though it has
stablized at a higher temperature).
