majQa', Angela. Welcome. I think you've been here for a few days and might
recognize me as the Beginners' Grammarian, the person who tries to be not
too many days slow in helping newcomers find their tlhIngan qamDu'. If you
put the letters "KLBC" in your subject line I'll be sure to see it, and to
help you out.

It's an enthusiastic first-day-with-the-dictionary sentence. Your spelling
is pretty good, but the grammar is ummm ... we'll get back to that. Notice
that there are TWO parts to the dictionary: the grammar and the vocabulary.
Just looking up words doesn't get you all that far. Klingon is totally
differnt from English, not just in the words. I know you just got the
dictionary, so you probably haven't had a chance to read all the grammar
yet, and you've got to do that first. Start on page 18 and read all the way
through to page 71, making notes of anything that doesn't make sense. I'll
be happy to explain anything in there that isn't clear.

You will find things especially relevant to your sentence in sections:

5.2 - placement of the word wa'DIch
6.1 - order of the object-verb-subject in a sentence
5.3 - placement of je
4.1.2 - imperative prefixes
6.2.3 - relative clauses
4.1.1 - basic prefixes
5.1 - when pronouns are used
3.3 - noun suffixes go on *nouns*

Also note that the letter {'}, as on the end of {-wI'} can't be omitted, and
that {nID} is a verb, not a noun.

}I could not find the word for This, is, wrong(I substitued bad)

See section 3.3.4 for "this" and "that." Look up {muj}. As for "is" see
section 6.3 and then look up the definitions of {Doy'} and {tam}. There are
many similar verbs, defined with "be" as part of the verb.

Doy' - he is tired

I gave you that long list of sections not to try to scare you off, but to
get out of having to explain everything that needs to be fixed in that
fairly complex sentence. I think I'd confuse you more than help you if I
did. When you've read through the grammar section, post your questions, or
try these sentences. Pay particular attention to sections 4.1.1 and 6.1.
This still isn't dead easy, but it will provide a place to start the
explanations.

The criminal receives a handgun.
This pet likes food.
I study Klingon. (hint: you have to say "Klingon language")
I am clever.

}Qapla' (I KNOW that is right :-)

Success, indeed. Good to have you with us. Stick around.
