Memorial Day weekend, Friday May 22nd thru Monday May 25th
Praxis - The official Mark Lenard Memorial convention, Hidden Valley, PA, USA
This is the first time that both Marc Okrand and I have been guests at the
same convention. Current plans are for us each to have a talk separately,
and to do a session together. Lots of other guests will be there as well,
for fans who don't speak any Klingon.
Friday August 7th thru Sunday August 9th
HopeCon '98, St. Louis, MO, USA
This is primarily a Klingon convention, run by some folks in KAG (but open
to all interested fans). Sounds like a very intense Klingon party. I'll be
their guest of honor (quite possibly their only guest). Because they're
providing me with a two room suite during my stay, I will be hosting a
KLI-member only qepHom in my hotel room at some point during the convention.
Friday October 2nd thru Sunday October 4th
TigerCon, Memphis, TN, USA
This is a small convention being held at the University of Memphis. I'm
quite excited to be doing this convention because it's the first time I've
been a guest at any convention this far south. With luck, I'll be able to
recruit some southern Klingonists to the KLI while I'm there.
It's always great fun to meet KLI members when I'm on the road speaking at
conventions, particularly members who haven't been able to attend a qep'a'
before. It gives me a chance to put faces to the names I've been seeing in
the database for so many years. If one of these events is near you, I hope
you attend. And if you do, please don't be shy, come up and identify
yourself as a KLI member!
