Re: Boggle word game

SuStel says:

  Perhaps the
geometric progression you've got there is too inflated for Klingon. You'd be
able to use suffixes to make really long words very easily, and it would kind
of eliminate the need for three or four letter words. After all, if you can
make five 32-point words, why bother mentioning the two one-point words you
made?

The key is you might not find the letters in the 16 chosen at random to create
long words. You may be right about it being overinflated, however. Prefixes
and suffixes would make it a high scoring game, throwing the same suffix on
every word.

Perhaps a rule that you can only use any given prefix or suffix once. Or that
you can only count the root word once. Putting multiple suffixes on the same
root word wouldn't count multiple times..

That's what play-testing is all about. The English Boggle is geared so that
lots of medium length words (4 or 5 letters) tend to outscore the occasional
really long word. Perhaps something less geometric for the tlhIngan Hol
version.
