While leafing thru the ST Encyclopedia I found at a Waldenbooks, I came
across some interesting bits on Klingon society. It seems that the role of
Klingon women is to stay home and teach the offspring combatance and war.
They have other roles, but they are not so militarily oriented as are the
males of the race. Klingon females are not limited from military
participation, by any means. It's just that their roles as teachers are much
more common and important in society. Their other roles are much less
militarily oriented. This is the reason Klingon women are so hard to come by
in the films.

Plus, consider the fact that human women, who are cast for the parts of
Klingons, are generally in this day and age more concerned about their
appearance than men. Women who do not meet a certain "standard" in appearance
placed on them by their society may be discouraged from acting in the first
place.

Maybe its a clue as to why {ghojmoq} sounds so close to {ghojmoH}.
