Obviously the joke has to do with the homophony of {roS} "to lick" and
{roS} "to use the third toe". A couple of years ago I composed a joke
that could be a variant of the one Maltz recalled. I don't remember the
details, but it went something like this:

Qe'Daq boqrat chej luQevlI' cha' vutwI'.
jatlh wa'DIch: wIQevpu'DI' DuDwI' vIroS vIneH.
jatlh cha'DIch: 'ach vutmeH pa'Daq waqmey wItuQHa' net tuch.
