Then I take it that the "subscribe" option you refer to is just an option to 
follow that journal and receive its postings, rather than an option to join 
the site and start writing your own blog (which I'd originally thought). I'm 
with LiveJournal, and they use "Watch this journal" for the same purpose. So 
one possibility might be {bej} "watch" or {bejchoH} "start to watch".
