Trek trivia from the _ST Encyclopedia_:

   Deuterium [{bIQSIp 'ugh}] was also used as one of the reactants in
   the matter/antimatter reaction system in those ships' warp drive. The
   deuterium was the matter, and anti-hydrogen served as the antimatter.
