RE: Ten Commandments

> Btw, this is from the King James

I can't read the true original, so keep with the KJV here is my take on it.

"Don't permit zero gods to be more important." That says there should
always be at least one god above him. Change pagh to latlh.

> 4. pagh nagh beQ yIchenmoH.

Instead of stone tablets, I think Hew sculptures/statues would be better.

"Do make something for the purpose of resembling nothing which is in..."

... vay' tu'lu'bogh rurbogh vay' yIchenmoHQo'
"Don't make something..."

Andrew mentioned /ghal/.

Where does the -taHvIS come from?

> vavpu' HeS vIbIjmeH, puqpu' vInoD.

"punish the crime"?

vavpu' HeSmo' puqpu' vIbIj; mumuSbogh chaH puq poHvaD wejDIch loSDIch je
puq vIbIj je.

(If it confuses you, the second sentence is a noun-noun-noun clause.)

> 6. 'ej mumuSHa'chugh nuv, 'ej chut vIra'bogh polchugh,

pol "keep, save" as in "where do you keep the chocolate?"
"keep a commandment" I believe is "obey".
The object of ra' is the person being commanded.

Another -taHvIS. ?

"... for the purpose of honorably saving the day of sabbath."

sabbath jaj DaquvmoHmeH jaj yIqaw.

... tIquvmoH.

> vaj nI'jaj jajmeylIj, Sep'e' Dunobbogh joH'a', QunlI' DaDabtaHvIS.

"May your days be lengthy" really means "may they be many".
vaj law'jaj jajmeylIj

Sep ? I would stick with the more general term puH.
