I have a feeling the allowed objects for these are a little less strict than
that.

KGT p. 184:

juDev 'ej Dujvam ra'wI' DagheS 'e' vItlhob
"I ask you to lead us as commander of this ship."

Here, the object of /tlhob/ is the request, not the requestee.

The only one of the speech-related verbs I feel confident about is /jatlh/,
because Okrand explained it very carefully.
