The pattern we see here is that the object is the destination.
We see this for  ghoS, jaH, 'el, leng, paw.
The prefix must designate the destination as an object, -Daq can be used or
not used.

Other words that do not need -Daq:  bav, vegh.

I'm not very good at explaining things.  The best way is to see canon
examples of its usage.

The rules pertaining to this area are discussed in HolQeD Dec 98 in an
interview with Okrand.  (That's why its important to join the KLI and order
the back issues).
