bImaw''a'? Duvuv SuS DaneH'a'?

You needn't speak to me only in English. I was hoping you didn't mean
that, or were otherwise confused about my participation in the KLI. I
gave you the bennefit of the doubt, and addressed my answer to you
Off-List.

I see that you were merely being rude, and chose to repeat it in the
public forumn.

That's OK: tlhIngan maH.

nachlIj jeDba' law' DIrwIj jeDbej puS Do'meH
Fortunately my skin is thicker than your skull.

I will repeat myself:
" It's ["Re:Strange Coincidence" is] just a Star Trek language
question...
 < KLIP >
...Like it or not; Star Trek is inextricably linked to Klingon
[including the small part that is the Language]."

What part of that didn't you understand? Do I need to repeat that in
Welsh?
Mae Klingon yn llai na Star Trek!

When you've been on the ListServ for a while (if it survives, at this
rate), you'll post in any of quite a few languages. I tend to
concentrate in English, German, or Italian, with liberal doses of
mu'mey tlhIngan Hol.

I did not include mu'mey tlhIngan Hol in the original posting,
because it was also copied to Berman, Braga and significant parties
at Decipher (new owners of the Official Star Trek Fan Club, and ST:
Communicator). Their 'geek alert' would have been set off, the eyes
would glaze over and the message would have been lost entirely. Since
I'm involved in a project at Decipher (from which some of the
Timeline was quoted) I'd hoped that it would have some influence
there, and by association at Paramount. They hold the reigns at P/V.

See above quote for WHY this is important to the Klingon Language.

Should I have created a seperate message for this List?

It seems so; I havent' heard this much whining since I stopped taking
my kids to Daycare (over ten years ago). Excuse me for bothering to
include the Klingon Language community in a discussion which does
directly affect us. ...whether or not it was written IN Klingon.

peboH. pejotchoH

As I've repeated several times too often now; I'd always intended on
following through with another message tailored exclusively for the
list. That didn't get a chance to happen in this group, not before
recieving a small barage of messages that ignored the critical point
of the messages:

The future of any Klingon inclusion in [Star Trek] Enterprise.

I'm among the majority within the KLI in my belief that the language
is less than the tip of the Iceberg; the body of collective culture
we call Klingon. Nor is the language the only part that is worthy of
study. If it's about Klingon, especially onscreen, you can be assured
that it will eventually have something to do with the language.
Language is just one part of any culture, and it's certainly not the
greatest, nor most important part of the Klingon Kulture [Klindom].

The smallest minority of all Klindom participate in this List. If I
knew the Klingon word for "Sad" I would apply that here. The Language
is important, but merely a part of the greater whole.

The original charter indicated that this ListServ was for both
beginners and partly fluent participants.

tlhIngan Hol jIjatlh law' 'ach tlhIngan wo' jIqon puS.

If you insist on echoing d'Armonds knee-jerk message of suppression
[which is his right as List Master], then you choose limit
participation by excluding the greater population of your entire
potential audience. When the language was new, that may have made
sense. Now that attrition has reduced us to less than a tenth of what
we were just six years ago when I joined, a pattern of exclusion is
no longer viable. It's a method of madness.

Or a way of maintaining a small private chat BB: jabbI'IDghomHom

If this List is to remain exclusively written entirely IN Klingon (a
recent development), then it shouldn't be advertised as the ONLY
ListServ for the KLI.

Was my message ABOUT Klingon? Revisit the text above if you haven't
already got the point.

I'll continue to include more words & phrases exclusively IN Klingon,
but only so long as it doesn't exclude the vast majority of members.

So you joined a year ago.

"tlhIngan Hol yejHaD" mu'mey yIHech'a'?

Did you intend to mean you joined the "Klingon Language Institute?"

majQa'. This is a good thing.

You 'read your name as "2001,"' or did you mean that you've just been
reading the ListServ this year?

> DalaDchugh, tlhoy jIHvaD Daghoj.
Yes, but I've only read a few from you. I've read as much as I could
understand from the earliest Archives, and still try to keep up to
date. Your input wasn't very revealing of what or who you are.

"I consider my container of bile?"

Please recast that. Perhaps the BG can help you with that one,
because I don't recognize the reference.

...Or have a soda cracker, that should help with your condition.

Cymru yIDab. I like Wales, it's just some of the people there who are
occasionally dissagreable.
