You are correct about it not sounding like "pack" but I would argue that it
actually sounds like "park" not "pock".
As to word connections I've seen possibles that apply "tlhIngan"
phonetically and some which could work as "English" phonetically.. with paq
fitting the latter... It was just a thought and whether it was or wasn't
doesn't really matter I've never forgotten the word because that connection
worked for me.
