There are probably a bunch of other people who are more qualified to answer 
this, but I'll throw in my two cents. You'd probably have to determine 
whether the cutting was accidental, or on purpose, and then recast (i.e. 
rewrite) the sentence. For example, if it was an accident, you could say:

jIQaghmo' mupe' taj - Because I made a mistake, the knife cut me.
jIyepHa'mo' mupe' taj - Because I was careless, the knife cut me.

If it was purposeful, you might try:

jIpe''eghmeH taj vIlo' - In order to cut myself, I used a knife.

You would probably need some context to say why you cut yourself, such as 
jI'Itqu'mo' or something.
