HolQeD-Closed Captions

The HolQeD article about the closed captions from the latest klingon episode
"Prophecy" mentions Neelix offering to teach Tuvok a klingon drinking song
he has just learned.
This is interesting considering the previous klingon episode "Barge of the
Dead" had the Voyager crew singing that same song. (and isn't this the same
song Worf sang on DS9?)
But the HolQeD artical couldn't make anything of this song. So I did some
work on it...
(the episode "barge of the dead" had more lines so I'm using that show)
EJ IM-TA FEY DE-JA I
"And the blood was ankle deep." (per the doctor)
Well, they got the word "and". I wonder if the [I] was an "I don't know how
to pronounce ['Iw]" and in english {I} is sometimes pronounced "ee".
EJDAHK-SO-TAS GHOS VA STRAL BYTEEK
"And the river Skral ran crimson red" (per the doctor)
Again we do have the "and".
DAHK - the word for red is Doq, but someone who doesn't know klingon would
pronounce the {o} as a short {o}, which is how they pronounce it on the
show.
SO - (see a few sentences down)
TAS - solution (liquid), TKD
GHOS - ghoS
VA - again, an english speaker would pronounce many of the klingon {o} as
short {o} so the suffix -vo' would be pronounced VA. "the river RAN FROM a
red liquid solution". Poor grammer, but it fits how people tend to plug-in
words.
Now back to SO, SoD is flood and in english the D would be almost silent,
making SO. But I would expect that the {o} would be short like the others,
So that messes up this theory, otherwise it could work as "the river Skral
ran from a flood of red liquid solution". Hmm.
SKRAL - the name of a river.
BYTEEK - Again, {i} can be pronounced "ee" or "eye"; add in the "How do I
pronounce this capital Q in the middle" and bIQtIq can be butchered to
BYTEEK.
EMPA JAJ LAW-MOCH JAJ-PUSH
I wonder if EMPA is qempa'/ancestor and they just didn't pronounce that {q}
strong enough. Not sure if JAJ is "day" or a misused suffix -jaj. LAW and
PUSH, they're making a comparison of some kind? MOCH - superior (noun).
"the day of ancestor are many, the day of superior are few"? What if they
followed the wrong line in TKD from the VERB superior. "The days of our
ancestors are many (from the beginning of time) and superior (v) days are
few (there aren't many days that are better than the days of our ancestors)"
Hmm
JAJ KAHLESS MOLOR-MIGH HOHK-CHEW KOO
This looks like "The day Kahless and the evil Molor fought to the death."
Here they do seem to be talking about "day" so JAJ in the previous sentence
probably is "day" and not the suffix -jaj. HOHK-CHEW KOO - HoHchu'qu' -
fight to the death, KGT p68
