This is the perfect time to mention replacement proverbs. In Klingon
society, instead of appologizing after a social gaffe, a replacement proverb
is used. Replacement proberbs must be uttered forcefully and confidently.
The choice of replacement proberb is apparently unimportant, as is its
literal meaning. I have noticed, though, that the shorter ones get used most
often, and longer ones are generally reserved for more serious oversights -
but that may just be us. If the replacement proverb is accepted, the
oversight is forgotten and everyone goes on as if it never happened. If not,
then it's probably time to leave...

Here are the replacement proverbs I can remember. The list may not be
complete:

reH latlh qabDaq qul tuj law' Hoch tuj puS
Hagh qoHpu' neH HeghtaHvIS SuvwI'pu'
DopDaq qul yIchenmoH QobDI' ghu'
jagh DajeymeH nIteb yISuvrup
reH Suvrup SuvwI''a'
HIvqa' veqlargh
