Here, you said "I go at Hennepin County Medical Center to succeed/work". The
verb {Qap} means "work/function/succeed", in the sense of "The computer
works/functions" or "I succeed/win" (e.g., if you were playing a game). What
you really want to use in your sentence is {vum} ("work, toil"):
{vummeH <Hennepin County Medical Center>Daq jIghoS} "I go at Hennepin County
Medical Center to work".
If you wanted, you could also simplify the sentence to:
{<Hennepin County Medical Center>Daq jIvum} "I work at Hennepin County
Medical Center"
> ghojmeH <U of MN>Daq jIghos. HolQeD paqmey je jItIv.
>
Again, if you wanted, you could simplify the first sentence to:
{<U of MN>Daq jIghoj} "I learn at U of MN"
There's one problem with the second sentence though. For the second
sentence, {HolQeD paqmey je jItIv}, you used the verb prefix {jI-} on the
verb {tIv} ("enjoy"). The prefix {jI-} is used when the subject of the verb
is "I, me", and when there is no object or the object is vague.
Some examples of when to use the prefix {jI-}:
{jIbogh} "I am born".
{jIQong} "I sleep"
{jIghoj} "I learn (in general)"
You said that you enjoy specific things: {HolQeD} ("linguistics") and
{paqmey} ("books"). So you want to use the verb prefix that indicates the
subject is "I, me" and the object is "them". You can find a chart of the
prefixes on page 33 of TKD, or a list on page 163.
Looking in the upper-right corner of the chart, you'll find that the prefix
for "I - them" is {vI-}. To say "I enjoy them", you would use {vItIv}. So
your sentence should be:
{HolQeD paqmey je vItIv.} "I enjoy linguistics and books"
Some other examples of the prefix {vI-}:
{vIlegh} "I see him/her/it/them"
{vISop} "I eat him/her/it/them"
{vIHotlh} "I scan him/her/it/them"
You answered the beginner's challenge well. majQa'!
