Disclaimer: This is only a highlight and does not cover all the aspects of
the material contained herein.
In Klingon, when two nouns appear in a row, the most common concept involved
is possession. Noun 1 possesses noun 2.
Examples: loD paq = man's book (loD = man; paq = book)
be' betleH = woman's bat'leth (be' = woman; betleH = bat'leth, a sword of
honor)
puq targh = child's dog-like Klingon animal
When there are more than two nouns in such a series, possession is still one
of the most common concepts.
Examples: loD puq targh = man's child's dog-like Klingon animal
be' betleH ret'aq = woman's bat'leth's hilt (ret'aq = hilt, handle)
Further hint: A noun series showing possession must not end with the Klingon
conjunction {je} = "and."
There are other ways to show possession. Other highlights will deal with
these individually.
