How do we know how long the Klingon year is?
We don't even officially (cannon-wise) what star system Qo'noS is in.
In the ST 6 novel it says 
Amrita but of course that doesn't make it cannon.
In KGT it says that Qo'noS has basically one large continent with a few
islands surround by a global ocean. Is this considered cannon or is that
just the author's guess.
