Didn't see the episode. It was likely Paramount-created gibberish.

The circumstance of a Klingon raised by humans, probably of the
Eastern Orthodox faith, which has elaborate funeral rituals for
disposal of the corpse, undoubtedly placed some significance on the
body for Worf.

Klingons are not homogeneous and not uninfluenced by other cultures
and philosphies. There may be Klingon cultures that carry out final
rituals on corpses. I'm sure young Klingon children are confused and
upset by the casual disposal of all that physically remains of a
parent. I wonder if the declaration that the body is a shell and the
quick careless disposal is not a type of ceremony in itself, giving as
much closure to the bereved as a candlelit mass or military funeral.
