HolQeD Update

The September 1997 issue of HolQeD (volume six, number three; whole
number 23) was taken to the printer today. This is the new printer, the
one who managed the last issue though with much confusion and pulling of
hair. I still miss the previous printer whom we used for about four
years. He was a Star Trek fan, he was sensitive to our plight as a
small nonprofit, he would bend over backwards to accomodate our
schedule, and his prices were very good. The current printer is much
more "business-like" and as a result takes longer, costs more, offers
less personalized service, and so far has been a pain in the ass to
use. And this is the next best printer I could find -- you should see
the ones I rejected.
So, anyway, the point is, the new issue is in press, and should be
mailed out to the domestic membership on the last day of the month as
planned. With a little luck the foreign mailing will also be done that
day.
If your membership has expired and you've been "meaning to renew" do it
RIGHT NOW! It's a lot easier to mail everyone's issues all at once,
than to have to make endless trips to the post office to accomodate
folks who can't remember to renew before the next quarter has come and
gone.
If you're not sure when your membership expires, this information always
appears on the envelope, just above your address. If the upcoming issue
is your last, please send in a renewal as soon as you realize this fact,
and we can avoid unpleasantness in December.
