The only qualification you need to join us is your interest. Welcome to the
listserver. You can also join the Klingon Language Institute itself and
become a card-carrying member. (Literally: you get a nice card, but I
regret to report that Video World doesn't accept it as valid ID.) We'll
help you fix the "yet"
too.

The Klingon Dictionary is the intellectual property of its author, Marc
Okrand and the commercial property of Paramount, so there *shouldn't* be a
copy on the web. Yes, there are copies of many parts out there, but they
tend to be full of errors. The password protected one is probably The
Microsoft Network (MSN). It doesn't actually have the dictionary online,
but it does have a Q&A forum with Okrand.

The number one thing you need to start learning Klingon is The Klingon
Dictionary. For information on the dictionary, on the Klingon Language
Institute and on this mailing list, see the KLI's site at http://www.kli.org
and this list's FAQ at http://labs.thomtech.com/~dspeers/klingon/faq.htm

Now buy the dictionary. Read the dictionary. Write a few sentences. Send
them to us. We will help you to speak Klingon with honour.
