another view point could be:
In klingon, plural suffixes are optional also.
prefix I/him is vI- and I/them is vI-
[jaghwI' vIlegh] could be [I saw my enemy] or [I saw my enemies]
[vIqIp] could be [I hit him] or [I hit them]
[ghaH vIqIp] is [I hit him]
Putting ghaH in there shows that the object being referenced is singular.
